When is it safe to use my retinol?

Once your permanent makeup is fully healed, you can resume your normal skincare routine. Just avoid applying retinol directly over the treated area to help preserve your results.

What about getting Botox or fillers?

If you've recently had Botox, wait at least 2 weeks before your permanent makeup appointment. This gives your facial muscles time to settle before your treatment. Planning a lip blush treatment? If you've had lip fillers, it's best to wait 4 weeks before your appointment. This allows any swelling to resolve and helps ensure the most accurate shape and beautiful, even results. Can I have laser treatment afterward?

Yes, but you'll need to take a few precautions. Black Bloom Studio does not offer laser treatments. But laser treatments should not be performed directly over areas with permanent makeup whenever possible. The laser can affect the pigment and may cause it to fade or change color. If you're planning both treatments, it's usually best to schedule your laser treatment before your permanent makeup appointment.

Will the sun affect my PMU?

Absolutely, yes! Sun exposure is one of the biggest reasons permanent makeup fades over time. UV rays can also cause the pigment to change color. Once your permanent makeup is fully healed, apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher to the treated areas every day. Wearing a hat and sunglasses can provide even more protection when you're outdoors. Taking a few simple precautions will help keep your permanent makeup looking fresh, vibrant, and beautiful for longer.
