Your first 3D areola tattoo appointment is approximately two hours and begins with an in-person consultation. Breanna Joy will discuss your goals, existing areola or nipple appearance, scarring, symmetry, shape, and pigment color.

Using cosmetic pencils, we will pre-draw and map the areola and nipple design directly on the skin so you can review the shape, placement, size, and color plan before tattooing begins. Your appointment then includes numbing followed by the 3D areola tattoo procedure.

A $150 non-refundable deposit is required when booking and is applied toward the total cost of your service.

Your 3D areola and nipple tattoo is carefully customized to your individual anatomy, skin tone, existing areola tissue, and desired results. Breanna Joy uses multiple pigment colors and detailed tattoo techniques to create natural-looking color, dimension, and symmetry.

• Design & Mapping – Before tattooing begins, the shape, size, placement, and symmetry are carefully mapped and pre-drawn directly on the skin. Existing nipples, areola tissue, and surgical scarring are incorporated into the design whenever possible.
• Custom Color Selection – Multiple pigment shades are selected and blended to complement your natural skin tone and existing areola color. Color choices may also be used to help soften the appearance of scarring or uneven pigmentation.
• Tattooing & Shading – Using fine needles and professional tattoo pigments, Breanna gradually layers color, texture, highlights, and shading to recreate natural areola details and the appearance of dimension.
• Final Details – Additional shading and color adjustments are made throughout the procedure to improve balance, definition, and symmetry while maintaining a soft, realistic result.

Immediately after the procedure, the tattoo will appear darker and more defined than the final result. As the area heals, the pigment will soften and settle into a more natural appearance.

Initial healing for a 3D areola tattoo typically takes about 7–10 days, although light flaking, dryness or scabbing may continue for up to 2–3 weeks. Healing varies by individual, and the color will continue to soften and settle as the skin recovers.

• Keep it clean – Gently cleanse the tattoo as directed using the cleanser provided in your Black Bloom aftercare kit or a mild antibacterial soap and water.
• Keep it dry at first – Allow the area to air dry during the first day and avoid excessive moisture, sweating, rubbing or unnecessary products.
• Moisturize lightly – After approximately 24–48 hours, or once the area begins to feel dry and tight, apply a very thin layer of Black Bloom Specialty Tattoo Lotion as directed. Avoid over-moisturizing.
• Protect from friction – Wear clean, soft, loose-fitting clothing whenever possible. If a bra is necessary, a clean cotton pad may be placed between the tattooed area and bra to help prevent rubbing or sticking.

Do not pick or remove peeling skin or scabs, and avoid applying additional skincare products to the tattooed area while it is healing. Following your aftercare instructions carefully helps support clean, even healed results.

Your Perfecting Touch-Up is included with your 3D areola tattoo package and is strongly recommended approximately 6–8 weeks after your initial appointment. This session allows Breanna to evaluate your healed results, refine color and shading, improve symmetry, and add additional pigment to any areas that healed lighter than expected.

Scar tissue can sometimes heal and retain pigment differently than surrounding skin. While many scars hold color beautifully, some areas may benefit from additional layering during your included Perfecting Touch-Up.

Your complimentary Perfecting Touch-Up must be used within 4 months of your initial appointment. After your initial sessions are complete, an Annual Touch-Up or color refresh is generally recommended every 2–3 years, depending on fading, skin, pigment color, sun exposure, skincare and lifestyle.
